therapy business tools and resources

REdD Strategy is affiliated with most of these tools.
These are the business tools and resources that I and my clients use
for business and feel comfortable recommending to you.

Starting and managing a private practice doesn't have to be complicated.
In fact, it can be very simple if you find the right tools to help you.

In the years I have spent working with therapists and managing REdD Strategy,
I tried many business tools online and offline and came up with this list of valuable,
easy-to-use, and impactful business tools that helped me and my clients grow the business.

And because I love these services, I feel confident in recommending them to you.

novo bank business account

Opening a business checking account is one

of the first things you'll do after creating a legal entity for your business.

After starting REdD Strategy, I headed directly
to my local bank to open a business account, thinking that it would be the best option for my finances and my business. I was wrong. Not only did I have to keep a minimum balance of $1,500, but I was also tied to an online interface that was not compatible with small business needs.

After doing an extensive search online, I decided to move my business to Novo Bank, geared specifically to small business owners. It offers
no balance minimum, no hidden fees, and is easy to interact with online.

simple practice - ehr software

Roughly 80% of my own clients use Simple Practice for running their private practice.

I personally have looked into other EHR software for therapists and have consistently found that Simple Practice offers everything a private practitioner needs.

It's the only practice management software that allows you to go fully virtual, in-office, or anywhere in-between. Integrated with telehealth, online appointment requests, paperless intakes, and more.

And you can try it for free!

google workspace

Another great tool for quick website building is Google. But that's not all that Google Workspace can do for your business.

It allows you to enable HIPAA compliance for scheduling, video calling, and collecting online forms. With plan prices starting at $6/month, you can manage your entire practice through Google including website building.

And although Google website builder is fairly basic and doesn't let you customize your design much, it's a great option if you want to set up your online space quickly and start accepting clients.

convertkit.png

convertkit email marketing

Unlike your communication with clients, your email marketing doesn't need to be HIPAA compliant.

Email marketing is what helps you spread your message, notify your audience about the news in your private practice and send useful non-confidential information that provides extra value for your current and potential clients.

I use email marketing more than any other marketing technique and I've tried different services to communicate with my subscribers.

I found Convertkit to be the most convenient and robust tool for sending email blasts and automating email sequences.Best of all you can try it for free!

canva.png

canva graphic design app.

Canva is the most versatile graphic tool available online today. With Canva you don't have to hire a graphic designer for every little thing like an Instagram post or a flyer.

You can use Canva for literally any design project you need. You can even create your own logo using hundreds of templates that the application provides.

Canva is both a desktop and a mobile application and can be used by anyone, even professional graphic designers like myself. There are templates for any project and you can start designing today with a completely free account.

paperbell.png

paperbell coaching software

If you're thinking about or if you're already offering coaching services, you need a system that will make it easy for you to schedule appointments, sign contracts, send reminders, and accept payments.

Before I used Paperbell I had to do that separately or tried to figure out how to integrate applications with one another. It was a big spaghetti mess of a process.

Paperbell is a software that is built specifically for coaches and solves all the integration issues by offering everything a coach needs in one place.

With Paperbell you can easily create different service packages, book clients, and accept payments. The process is seamless and is well worth the investment, but you can set up a free account to start!

sparkcard.png

capital one spark credit card

Keeping your business expenses separate will not only make your own life easier but will win you extra points with your bookkeeper and accountant. A dedicated credit card for your business is the next step you need to take after opening a bank account.

A well-chosen credit card for your business will help you grow your business and get rewards for using it.

After using different credit cards, I chose Spark from Capital One. It offers unlimited 2% cash back on every purchase, every day. That's the best deal I could find in the market. I often use the rewards on covering a portion of my bill and it adds up!

elementor.png

elementor website building

Elementor is a website builder for WordPress environment. It's a drag and drop editor complete with hosting and WordPress-ready tools.

This website unfortunately was not built with Elementor because it was done a while ago, but if I were to create a website for REdD Strategy today, I would have definitely used Elementor.

In fact, I'm using it to build new sites for myself and my clients. It's easy to use and extremely versatile. Oh, and if you're building your website on WordPress, you can use the Elementor plugin for easy editing.

hushmail.png

hushmail online forms

While I don't have the need for this service for my business, Hushmail provides a great service for healthcare providers that are required to be HIPAA compliant.

Hushmail is your all-in-one solution for secure client and patient communication. It's perfect for therapists, psychologists, optometrists, dentists, chiropractors, physical therapists,

and other healthcare professionals.

You can send encrypted emails to your clients that provide complete confidentiality and accept intake forms from new clients.

namecheap.png

namecheap domain provider

Namecheap is my main go-to service for buying domain names. You might be surprised, but I have more than one registered to me. So I use it quite a lot.

Before you start building your website, you need to make sure that the name you've selected for your private practice as a URL is available for purchase.

Namecheap makes the whole experience very easy and even gives suggestions for other extensions besides .com. The dashboard is easy to navigate, which comes in handy when you're trying to connect your domain to your website.

planoly.png

planoly Instagram scheduler

If you use social media to create awareness about your private practice and attract potential clients, you know how time-consuming it can be. Designing and writing posts can sometimes take hours at a time.

Needless to say that there are many abandoned social media accounts out there. But scheduling your social posts ahead of time can help you avoid losing interest and neglecting your social accounts.

The main social media platform that I use is Instagram and for a good reason. It has roughly one billion users!

I use Planoly to schedule my posts ahead of time for weeks at a time. It's easy and intuitive and you should try it for yourself
